local yum

Recently I have visited three new restaurants from the KC's top 100 restaurants list!

My mom and I went to The Westside Local on Saturday. All I can say is mmmmm. It was a cold and rainy day, so we both ordered the grilled cheese and fennel tomato soup. This was the world's best grilled cheese, the most yummy soup and I will give three cheers for the fries and homemade ketchup! {highly recommend} The lunch totally made our day.
Now I have visited 42 of the 100 restaurants! While I don't agree with all 100, the list is a great place to start when thinking about somewhere new to eat. I also watch Check Please, Kansas City on KCPT regularly and like to visit their recommendations too.

Check Please recently sent me to Hot Basil (which is also on the top 100 list) with my friend Jenni... we both loved it, although I think we missed out by not trying the soup they are known for. Also from Check Please & the top 100 list, I visited El Patron with my sister and brother-in-law. Their taco choices are awesome! Great food, great ambience - better than most SW Blvd choices. I had three tacos - al pastor, carne asade and fish - they were all great!
